SmartBear Appoints Chief Revenue Officer to Drive the Next Phase of Global Growth

With 25 Years of High-Growth Software Industry Experience, Frank Roe Now Leads SmartBear’s Revenue Operations
SOMERVILLE, Mass. — August 23, 2018 —

SmartBear, the leader in software quality tools for teams, appointed Frank Roe as the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). He comes most recently from Oracle as Area Vice President of U.S. - East Sales for its Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud Business Unit. Roe is responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of global revenue operations at SmartBear. He will drive revenue growth, international expansion, and acquisition integration. He has 25 years of experience in software with a highly successful career in scaling sales, services, and marketing operations globally for SaaS applications, development, deployment, and integration markets.

Prior to Oracle, Roe was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Rogue Wave Software where he drove double digit organic revenue growth and integrated multiple acquired companies, capitalizing on cross selling opportunities. He worked at RSD as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales where he transformed the 35-year organization, moving it from an archiving centric solution company into becoming the global and recognized leader of the new and emerging information governance market. He was Director, Global Sales at Progress Software for more than six years, and held various sales roles at Incentive Systems and Deloitte Consulting. He began his career as a strategy consultant at Andersen Consulting. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst - Isenberg School of Management.
