Increasingly, we hear “faster!” with respect to delivering product to market. Do it faster. Thus, we break apart our software to encourage parallel development and accelerate. But we also create dependencies between software components, the interconnected APIs and the people and teams building them. These dependencies often counteract our desire to go faster. So what can we do? In order to untangle this complex puzzle, companies of all sizes are turning to API Virtualization. Whether the API you need is developed by a peer team or a different company entirely, applying dynamic API virtualization means you don’t care. Your dependencies disappear, and you can reach the velocity you know you’re capable of.

Fredrik and Shadid are covering API mocking vs. API virtualization and the differences, how API virtualization impacts all stages in your API lifecycle and how companies of all sizes are doing this in real life. SmartBear’s API Readiness framework, Ready API, is a unified set of graphical and code-based testing tools that includes ServiceV Pro for API service virtualization, as well as SoapUI NG for functional testing, LoadUI NG Pro for load testing, Secure Pro for dynamic API security testing and TestServer for Continuous Integration environments.

Fredrik Svarén works specifically with Ready API. He combines more than 20 years of experience as a software developer and architect with coaching and management skills to enable teams to deliver high quality software on time. He was previously an IT project consultant with Erik Penser Bankaktiebolag. He held various engineering positions with Orc Group AB, previously Orc Software AB, for more than 12 years.

Shadid Chowdhury focuses on service virtualization at SmartBear, working for the company for nearly four years. He is a major contributor to SoapUI. Shadid enjoys building quality software keeping user needs and goals on top. Shadid is passionate about understanding the user and user needs, especially the testing community and how to make better tools for them. Most recently, he has been spending time developing the virtualization tool for REST and SOAP APIs. Shadid has more than 9 years of development experience and has a master’s degree in Distributed Systems from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).

SmartBear’s European Headquarters are located in Galway, Ireland with a development center in Stockholm, Sweden.
