  • Bryce Chicoyne, CFO

    Bryce Chicoyne

    Chief Financial Officer &
    Chief Operating Officer

    Bryce is the COO and CFO of SmartBear, and oversees mergers and acquisitions, finance, legal, information systems, security, and operations. He joined SmartBear in 2017 and has 20 years of experience building and leading finance and administrative teams. He has extensive M&A experience, having successfully been involved in almost two dozen transactions.

  • Courtney Cunnane

    Courtney Cunnane

    SVP, Growth Marketing

    Courtney leads Growth Marketing (formerly Demand Generation) for SmartBear. Our high-velocity sales team relies on consistent, quality leads – across a breadth of products – which puts ever-increasing expectations on growth marketing. In response, in two years with the company, Courtney has doubled the size of her team, implemented predictive scoring and modeling, kept the focus on growing top-of-funnel, and increased mid-funnel conversions. All this while (somewhat) obsessively improving alignment between marketing and sales. Prior to SmartBear, she spent 10 years at Experian with roles in demand, communications, and content marketing. She lives on the south shore of Massachusetts, and spends her free time chasing after her two sons, aged 6 and 3, with her high-school-sweetheart husband.

  • Lou DiFruscio

    Lou DiFruscio

    Chief Revenue Officer

    Lou is an experienced go-to-market leader, having spent the better part of the last 25 years in sales leadership. He can always be heard around the office encouraging his team and passing along any and all knowledge he has acquired over the years. As Chief Revenue Officer, Lou is driven by the opportunity to make an impact with both SmartBear customers – and his fellow SmartBears. When Lou isn’t in work mode, he’s supporting his three teenage boys in their various sports and activities, admiring the two most handsome dogs on the planet, and spending time with his amazing wife.

  • Brian Downey

    SVP, Product

    Brian has spent over 20 years in a variety of leadership positions. Companies like Dell/EMC, BMC Software, and most recently Continuum, where he established and ran the security business – which eventually helped enable Continuum’s sale to ConnectWise. Along with his passion for helping companies solve complex business problems with technology, Brian enjoys the complex problem of trying to keep up with his three young kids.

  • Dan Faulkner

    Dan Faulkner

    Chief Product Officer

    Dan is the Chief Product Officer of SmartBear and leads the company's global Product and Development teams. He joined SmartBear in 2021 and brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic leadership at high-growth global technology organizations. He has expertise in heading up multiple enterprise-level acquisitions and building go-to-market strategies on a global scale. Outside of work, Dan loves to spend time with family, friends, books, horror movies, and soccer matches, usually in that order.
  • Cynthia Gumbert

    Cynthia Gumbert

    Chief Marketing Officer

    Cynthia has worked in technology, both software and hardware, for 20+ years. She leads marketing efforts by mixing the science and art of marketing with a passion for innovation and breakthroughs that help advance industry. In addition to leading the marketing function, she’s also involved in advancing women in technology and loves overseeing a diverse and multinational team. Outside of the office, Cynthia enjoys the outdoors, especially skiing, and a good binge-watch with her family.

  • Lance Levy

    Lance Levy

    SVP and General Counsel

    Lance Levy has over 20 years of in-house leadership in public, private-equity and venture-backed companies. He joined SmartBear in 2015, and led the legal team through its private-equity sale from Insight Ventures to Francisco Partners and, most recently, the strategic investment from Vista Equity Partners. In his experience leading company legal teams, he’s successfully led multiple tech organizations through buy-and-sell side M&A exits, totaling over $2B. Prior to SmartBear, Lance was General Counsel of Affinnova, Inc., Imagitas, Inc., leading them in exits to Nielson Corporation and Pitney Bowes respectively and Assistant General Counsel at PAREXEL International. He enjoys spending time with friends and family and will laugh when appropriate, no written mandate required.

  • Vineeta Puranik

    SVP, Engineering

    Vineeta has had a lengthy career in software-engineering leadership. Her experience includes multi-shore development, cybersecurity, and acquisition – and the elements of integration that go with it. As a seasoned, execution-oriented leader, she’s passionate about advancing Agile-to-DevOps workflows, and secure, high-quality product development practices. Outside of the office, Vineeta enjoys hiking, painting, and yoga.

  • Christine Purpura

    SVP, Information Systems

    Christine began her career in Information Technology at Advertising.com, gaining unparalleled experience in the data-warehousing and information technology space, while also establishing herself as a respected manager and leader. Currently working as the SVP of Information Technology for SmartBear Software, Christine is widely known for her leadership, reliability, and transformational expertise. While her career has taken her up and down the East Coast, Christine is proud to call Gaithersburg, MD home. She is also a member of the Sr. Leadership Team (SLT) and Women In Technology International (WITI). Outside of the office, Christine enjoys distance running, live music, and has recently been learning to make the shift from a cat mom to now also being a puppy mom!

    Laurent Py

    SVP, Product

    Laurent is an experienced entrepreneur and product leader. He co-founded and ran both Smartesting and Hiptest, as well as contributed to the growth of startup in the software space as a board member. He loves to solve complex business problems, build high-performing teams, and explore new territories. His #1 priority is to make sure people understand the WHY of their jobs, and to help them focus on the ultimate metric that matters: happy customers. He enjoys biking and climbing #cyclopath

  • Frank Roe

    Frank Roe

    Chief Executive Officer

    Joining in 2018, Frank is the CEO and a board member of SmartBear, overseeing all aspects of the business. With over 25 years of experience, Frank seeks a comprehensive understanding of business complexities, providing collaborative leadership, while creating sustained long term company value. When not working, Frank loves spending time doing everything outdoors with his family and two dogs!

  • Anne Scanlon

    Chief People Officer

    Anne is the Chief People Officer at SmartBear, experienced in human resources. She’s responsible for leading all aspects of the company's global human resources function, including culture development, talent acquisition, retention, and change management. Driven by building and leading the people function, she takes pride on building and sustaining a positive employee experience, as well as develop a strategic partnership with executives to help scale and support the company vision. She is most proud of her opportunity to be able to mentor and develop employees.

    Anne believes in the SmartBear core values, especially openness, and is committed to helping others embrace our global diversity, equity, and inclusion. Outside of work, she likes staying active, playing tennis and golf and spending time with family and friends.

  • Joanna Schloss

    SVP, Product Marketing

    Joanna has over 20 years of helping companies evolve, from global 500s to startups. Her extensive knowledge in big data, analytics, and business helps her launch tools and applications for companies like Confluent, IBM, Oracle, and more. She leads the Product Marketing team in creating strategies and messaging around our products. A tech enthusiast to her core, she loves working with customers, collaborating with colleagues, and doing whatever it takes to bring great products to market. She also loves giving back to the tech community, which she does through evangelism and thought leadership. Outside work, she devotes most time to her husband and three kids, where they seek adventure, travel, and that perfect bowl of Japanese Ramen.

  • Anand Sundaram

    SVP, Product

    As a Senior Vice President of Product, Anand oversees tools and solutions for functional UI, device clouds, performance testing, and monitoring. He has been at SmartBear for over 6 years.

  • Darin Welfare

    Darin Welfare

    SVP, International Sales & Channel

    Darin has worked in the software and technology industry for more than 25 years, gaining valuable experience in driving profitable business expansion and developing international global partnerships. As a seasoned sales leader, his experience has taken him and his family around the world with assignments across both Asia and Central Europe – to the point they still have a home in Brazil. As our SVP of International, Darin is focused on driving our continued global reach, and ensuring our sales teams continue to bring value to our customers and partners. Outside of work, he prefers all things outdoors and finding new pursuits to remain fit and active.

  • Shital Whitmore

    SVP, Finance

    Shital is a finance professional with a well-rounded background in public and private equity-backed organizations – from large to small, across various industries. With her experience in turnaround situations and public companies, she knows not only how to help a team grow, but channel that growth toward the goal of becoming a world-class finance organization. Shital is driven by seeing the success of her team, peers, and the company she works for, but that’s not all. When she's not transforming finance organizations, she can be found on a mountain with her two little boys, skiing in the winter and hiking in all other seasons, or reluctantly touching interesting creatures that she'd otherwise run away from (thanks boys!).
