Halloween Web Traffic: Getting Down to the Bare Bones [Infographic]
Test and Monitor | Posted October 31, 2013

I hope you're all feeling mischievous because Halloween is finally here. Upon us are Jack-o-lanterns lighting up the houses on the streets, cacophonies of giggling children, the weird autumnal scent of dusted latex and rubber... and candy. Tons of candy.

Mountains of candy.

Whether you're stealing from your kid's haul or just catch the awesome candy sales the day after, one thing is for sure: Halloween isn't just for kids anymore.  1.2 billion dollars will be spent on adult American costumes this year, and with e-commerce as popular as it is, retailers like Target and Amazon have to be prepared for the onslaught of mischief that is countless people crowding their way to the check out page the day before the last Halloween party of the year.

That precious perception of speed is incredibly important, not just to the consumer, but also to the business who hopes to keep that consumer happy and returning. Over the last few weeks, we've used AlertSite to measure the performance of some major Halloween costume retailers to see how they hold up and how those numbers affect their revenue.  When every second counts, you can't put off site performance testing--especially on a holiday with high revenue--otherwise you'll be getting no treats and all tricks.

Luckily for you, we have a treat of an infographic we've created using data collected with AlertSite. Take a look:

And there you have it.  Have a great Halloween, stay safe, and stay spooky!
