Introducing SoapUI Open Source 5.5
SoapUI Open Source was a transformative tool for the API community when it was introduced over 12 years ago – and today we are happy to announce the latest transformation. SoapUI Open Source 5.5 will be available today, which introduces a quicker way to visualize and debug your RESTful and SOAP web services. We’ve also added some new UI touches that align with SmartBear’s, the main backer of SoapUI, new brand rollout.
Working with APIs has become an everyday occurrence for almost any engineer or tester working on web or mobile applications. Many times, this work doesn’t quite require a full set up of an end-to-end test case, but really only needs a quick request-response interface . That’s why we’ve brought the API Explorer from SoapUI Pro into the Open Source version, which allows developers and testers to debug their API’s response in instantly.
A user can now simply enter in endpoint, parameters, header, and authorization information into the API Explorer, and the response will be displayed immediately. This means developers will spend less time testing and debugging and more time building their mission-critical APIs.
Unlike other REST testing clients, SoapUI Open Source is capable of taking your testing a bit further – allowing you to create and organize end-to-end functional, security, and performance tests from these endpoints. For true continuous testing in DevOps and Agile environments, organizations turn to ReadyAPI – the most advanced API testing platform on the planet, built directly on SoapUI Open Source technology. Using ReadyAPI allows test engineers to use SoapUI scripts to create data-driven tests across different environments in just minutes – giving you the quality and confidence you need to deploy in a CI/CD environment.
In SoapUI Open Source 5.5 we’ve also added enhancements to the way to handle WS security and SSL algorithms – giving enterprise teams an easier way to work around secure calls and networking.
