Krzysztof Agienczuk, Software Engineer at SmartBear, a leading provider of software development and visibility tools, is presenting, “Web Application Hacking powered by OWASP Juice-Shop and OWASP ZAP,” at TestWarez 2023, taking place on Wednesday, October 25 – Friday, October 27, 2023, in Warsaw, Poland. He is joined by co-speaker Grzegorz Borowiec, a cybersecurity consultant supporting IT projects at various stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). TestWarez is organized by the Information Systems Quality Association.

In this workshop, attendees use OWASP Juice-Shop to learn how to test the security of web applications, how hacking looks from a practical standpoint, and how to find big security bugs before somebody else finds them. OWASP Juice-Shop is a specially crafted web application written in JavaScript, designed to help people develop their penetration testing skills. Attendees get to know basic techniques used during a pentest and will be able to conduct such tests. The workshop touches on the most important aspect of penetration testing, which is writing a report. Questions that will be answered include: How should such a document look? What are type 1 and type 2 errors (false-positive and false-negative)? Why might their presence in the report rule out any future work? 

Based out of SmartBear’s Wroclaw office, Krzysztof is a software engineer focused on Zephyr enterprise test management projects. He is a programmer of all languages, including Java, Scala, Python, C++, and JS, among others. He gets a lot of satisfaction from learning new things and sharing what he finds with others. He does not believe in doing security on his own "because it's easier." In his free time, he is a fan of classical music, jazz, and horse riding.
