Profiles in Diversity Journal Names SmartBear’s Vineeta Puranik a 2024 Woman Worth Watching in STEM

Vineeta Puranik recognized as high-achieving, purpose-driven leader in STEM who is blazing trails for other women
SOMERVILLE, Mass. — July 08, 2024 —

SmartBear, a leading provider of software quality and visibility solutions, announced that Vineeta Puranik, the company’s SVP, Engineering and Operations, has been named a 2024 Women Worth Watching® in STEM by Profiles in Diversity Journal®. The 6th annual award recognizes high-achieving women in STEM who are blazing trails for other women in their organizations and across the globe—and for girls everywhere who want to build successful and satisfying careers in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). Vineeta manages SmartBear engineering and operations with a global distributed team of more than 300.

“Our Women Worth Watching in STEM are high-performing, purpose-driven leaders who create value for other women and for the organizations where they contribute their talents,” said Profiles in Diversity Journal® publisher, James R. Rector. “We are honored to feature these 23 impressive women in STEM, including Vineeta Puranik, who have distinguished themselves through hard work and determination. Each year, the honorees continue to prove that the sky's the limit for women in these traditionally male dominated fields and for the young women who are considering entering the field. Congratulations to Vineeta, and thank you to SmartBear for nominating her and honoring her contributions to the field of STEM.”

Vineeta’s career in software engineering spans over two decades. Specializing in CI/CD pipelines, multi-shore development, and Agile-to-DevOps workflows, she has led teams through the entire lifecycle of delivering innovative products to market. Known for strong execution that delivers impactful business outcomes, Vineeta prioritizes people, retention, and training teams in modern, changing technologies and giving them the appropriate tools for success.

“Increasing diversity in STEM is crucial to foster innovation, enhance problem-solving skills, and ensure equitable access to opportunities for all,” said Vineeta Puranik. “From an early age, I was always encouraged to study math and science by parents who were excellent role models, and post-graduate, I was fortunate to have exceptional mentors who opened opportunities for me. I have always prioritized offering encouragement and support for women to help build important collaborative and supportive networks. Closing the gender gap in STEM is a multifaceted challenge that requires concerted effort and support from various stakeholders.”
