What Is the AI Builders Award?

The AI Builders Award is a quarterly customer award designed to spotlight real, impactful AI adoption in SmartBear products.

We’re celebrating teams that are not just experimenting with AI but putting it to work in meaningful ways. From productivity gains to quality improvements, the AI Builders Award highlights customers who are turning AI into real results.

Submissions are evaluated using clear criteria and supported by a combination of customer examples and product use.

How We Evaluate Submissions:

Winning entries demonstrate real, repeatable impact from using AI in Swagger to design, review, and deliver APIs.

Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • AI-assisted API creation or evolution, including generating or modifying API definitions using AI in Swagger

  • Measurable reductions in design or review effort, such as faster prototyping, fewer review cycles, or reduced manual work

  • AI-driven improvements to API quality and consistency, including standards enforcement, linting, or design guidance

  • Creative or scaled use of AI across teams or workflows, beyond individual experimentation

Selection Process, Prizes, & Recognition

  • Entries must be submitted by March 31st, 2026.

  • The Grand Prize Winner will receive Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, a SmartBear recognition package highlighting your team’s success, a SmartBear swag code, and a featured customer blog and social promotion.

  • The Runner-Up will receive AirPods Pro, a SmartBear swag code, and recognition of your achievement on SmartBear.com.

  • All eligible submissions will be automatically entered into a raffle for AirPods Pro, giving every entry a chance to win regardless of placement.

  • Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of SmartBear experts in API design, AI-powered development, and software engineering.

  • Winners will be selected based on how effectively they are using AI in Swagger, including measurable productivity gains, creative or scaled adoption across teams, and meaningful improvements to API quality, consistency, or delivery workflows.

  • Bonus: Registering for the AI Builders Workshop Series earns you an extra entry into the raffle. Please be sure to use the same email address when registering and submitting your nomination.
