SmartBear hosts open house on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 to unveil new UK office with The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Rob Appleyard scheduled to speak
SOMERVILLE, Mass. and BATH, England — November 10, 2022 —
SmartBear, a leading provider of software development and visibility tools, is hosting an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new central Bath, UK office on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. To bolster company culture and collaboration for its employees in Bath, SmartBear increased its office footprint to occupy 7,000 square feet with the potential to double its employee headcount. The new office includes a large boardroom, updated audio visual equipment for several new meeting rooms, game area, and a collaboration area to come together for work or fun. A decade ago, an office was opened in Bath by application stability management pioneer, Bugsnag, acquired by SmartBear in 2021.

Commercial interiors specialists Paramount completed the impressive new office with an emphasis on collaboration to support SmartBear’s growth across Europe. The core function at this location is software development, providing developer visibility for millions of users worldwide.
The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Rob Appleyard is scheduled to speak at the event. Other speakers include: Kevin Mashford, Director at Paramount; Maureen Plowman, Senior Vice President, Brand & Corporate Communications from SmartBear Headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts; Nikki Morcom, Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition & Culture at SmartBear in the UK, and Dan Faulkner, Chief Product Officer at SmartBear.

The re-opening of the Bath office brings the team into a larger SmartBear branded facility and coincides with expansions of the company’s headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts. It will be followed by other SmartBear global office expansions in 2023 as the company continues to scale and grow.
Earlier this year, SmartBear announced its official Hiring and Retention and Global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative. SmartBear signed the Vista Climate Pledge, committing to annually measure, offset, and set reduction targets for carbon emissions. The company holds a Global Day of Volunteering across its worldwide offices to clean up parks and beaches, and stocks its kitchens worldwide with reusable dishware and utensils, eliminating plastics in 2021.
