The OpenAPI Specification (OAS), based on the original Swagger 2.0 specification, has emerged as the world’s standard for defining and describing RESTful APIs.

The next version of the OAS – version 3.0 – is officially released, and comes with a host of rich, expressive capabilities for your API design and documentation. Some of these capabilities include support for describing callbacks, links to express relationships between operations, enhanced examples, and a simplified structure for better reusability.

Last month, we released support for OAS 3.0 in the open source Swagger tooling, including the Swagger Editor and Swagger UI. We have also published a ton of helpful resources to help API teams learn the 3.0 specification, and understand how OAS 3.0 can be used to design and document great APIs, including:

SwaggerHub now offers support for designing and documenting APIs with OpenAPI 3.0, as well as the ability to convert APIs defined with Swagger 2.0 to the latest version of the specification.

In this free SwaggerHub training, we look at what’s new in OAS 3.0, and show a live demo of defining APIs using OAS 3.0 in SwaggerHub. We also cover transitioning from Swagger 2.0 to OpenAPI 3.0, and how to start using OAS 3.0 for API design and documentation.

You can watch the full training below. To get the most out of the training, we recommend following allowing in SwaggerHub so you can see the power of OAS 3.0 in action for yourself. Signup for free here.
