BugSnag now supports applications built with the Vega Developer Tools from Amazon Devices & Services, giving developers immediate visibility into the stability of their TV-first apps. This launch is part of a deeper collaboration between SmartBear and Amazon, extending beyond tooling support into a broader partnership that accelerates software quality across the Amazon ecosystem.

The Vega Developer Tools bring React Native development into the living room, giving developers the power to build apps for Amazon TVs and devices without wrestling with platform-specific complexity. With optimized components for large-screen layouts, native support for remote control navigation, and smooth handling of multiple input modes such as voice and touch, Vega allows teams to focus on building user experiences instead of infrastructure.

Developers can test locally with the Vega Virtual Device, debug with Vega Studio in VS Code, and automate testing with Appium, all while ensuring their applications meet strict performance KPIs like fast startup times and fluid rendering.

But building apps is only half of the challenge.

Teams shipping apps on a new platform often face the same recurring pain points: noisy error data that hides what matters, quota limits that lead to blind spots during incidents, and uncertainty over whether a release is stable enough to push live. BugSnag addresses these problems head-on. With automatic quota management through dynamic sampling, rate limiting, and burst protection, developers never have to worry about missing critical errors or facing surprise costs.

BugSnag’s stability score provides a clear, benchmarked KPI for release health, turning crash data into a business-aligned metric that tells teams whether a release is safe to ship. And with code-aware error grouping, issues are organized by root cause. No duplicates, no manual tuning, just trustworthy insights developers can act on immediately.

Support for Vega OS is part of a larger story. Earlier this year, SmartBear announced a strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Through this partnership, SmartBear is bringing solutions like API Hub, Reflect, QMetry, and BugSnag directly into the AWS Marketplace and integrating them with AWS services such as Amazon API Gateway and AWS CodePipeline. The result is faster developer insights, stronger scalability, and streamlined adoption of quality tools that support the full software lifecycle.

As development accelerates with the rise of AI and new device ecosystems, ensuring quality and resilience at scale has never been more important. The collaboration between SmartBear and Amazon is designed to give developers clarity instead of complexity, predictable costs instead of hidden risks, and actionable insights instead of guesswork. With Vega OS support available from day one, BugSnag ensures that teams building for the next wave of TV-first applications can ship confidently, deliver reliably, and scale without compromise.
