The AI Innovation Award recognizes a standout customer who is redefining the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by leveraging artificial intelligence not only for efficiency, but for quality at every stage. This award honors teams who are pioneering new ways to implement AI across testing, development, and operations – without compromising the trust, performance, or reliability their customers depend on.

Award Criteria

To be eligible for the AI Innovation Award, companies must showcase outstanding practices and achievements across the following criteria:

  • Proven use of AI across the SDLC

    Examples of AI being applied strategically in areas like test automation, API design, API management, performance monitoring, or deployment optimization.

  • Measurable business or technical impact

    Tangible outcomes such as improved release velocity, test coverage, quality scores, or developer productivity.

  • Commitment to quality at scale

    A track record of balancing innovation with rigorous standards for stability, usability, and performance.

  • Continuous improvement

    Demonstrate a culture of continuous improvement by showcasing how your organization identifies and addresses challenges, iteratively improving development processes over time.

  • SmartBear tool integration (if possible)

    Integration of SmartBear HaloAI (i.e., portal generation, API document generation, natural language test automation, automated contract testing, automated test generation) into their workflows.

Selection Process

Interested companies must submit their entries by September 12, 2025.
  • Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges with expertise in AI, software development, testing, and SmartBear tools. 
  • Winners will be selected based on the innovation, effectiveness, and impact of their AI initiatives. 
  • The selected company will be honored with the AI Innovation Award and featured in SmartBear's recognition channels, including our social profiles and website.
