SmartBear, a leading provider of software development and visibility tools, has earned a Tech Cares Award for the third year in a row from TrustRadius, the most-trusted B2B technology decisioning platform. The awards recognize B2B technology companies for going above and beyond to provide impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR), including CSR programs for their employees, the environment, and people around the world.

According to TrustRadius, trending CSR programs in the tech industry include sustainability and the environment, volunteerism, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), generous donations, community impact, employee well-being and development, support for women in technology, and education. 

In November, SmartBear unveiled its expanded headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts, adding an onsite gym, coffee bars, and new collaboration areas for its employees. SmartBear has invested in several tools and technology as well as spaces where teams around the world love to come together to work, collaborate, and have fun. In all of those locations, SmartBear is investing in local community responsibility efforts.  

The company has been delivering on several global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals in the areas of Community, Sustainability and Diversity. SmartBear holds global volunteer days during Earth Month and during the holiday season. Employees have participated in four charity runs with company donation matching this summer across its offices worldwide. For Earth Month in April, employees volunteered to clean up Draw Seven State Park along the river in Somerville while the SmartBear Sales Development Rep (SDR) team volunteered with Blue Ocean Society to clean up debris at the L and M Street Beaches in South Boston.  

SmartBear has measured its annual greenhouse gas emissions since 2019, and through the Vista Climate Pledge, is committed to annually measure, offset, and set reduction targets for carbon emissions. The Somerville location is a certified LEED building, demonstrating green building practices and minimizing energy usage. The company also eliminated single-use plastics and chooses solution providers committed to sustainability. 

Each year since 2017, SmartBear has participated in the Pan-Mass Challenge bike-a-thon, giving over $295,000 in direct and employee-matching donations to date.
