Development Teams Using SwaggerHub Can now Deploy their APIs Directly to the IBM Cloud
SOMERVILLE, Mass. — March 21, 2017 —
SmartBear Software, the leader in software quality tools for teams, announced that SwaggerHub, the integrated API development platform, has developed an integration with IBM Cloud allowing development teams working with SwaggerHub to deploy APIs directly to IBM Bluemix with minimal configurations. The integration is being demonstrated at IBM Interconnect, taking place on March 19th – March 23rd, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
APIs have changed the business ecosystem and have become important drivers of strategic and technological goals. Developers are increasingly looking to work with APIs in a dedicated platform, while flexibly tying into an organization’s external toolsets and avoiding the constraints of vendor lockdown. To facilitate this need, SmartBear has introduced a direct SwaggerHub integration with IBM Cloud that allows developers to effectively manage and deploy Swagger-based APIs on their IBM API Connect instance on Bluemix, IBM’s cloud platform, without tedious and manual configurations.
Built for development teams, SwaggerHub combines the power of the open source Swagger tools with advanced features to build, document and deploy APIs. SwaggerHub offers a collaborative API development environment in a centralized platform to orchestrate various operations of the API lifecycle.
“Organizations are rapidly adopting SwaggerHub to design, document and develop their APIs.” said Tony Tam, Vice President of Swagger Products at SmartBear. “The new integration with IBM Bluemix helps developers easily develop and deploy their Swagger-based APIs to the IBM API Connect instance on the IBM Bluemix cloud platform, ensuring the definition of Bluemix is always up-to-date based on the design in SwaggerHub.”
Bluemix, IBM’s cloud platform, has grown rapidly to become one of the largest open, public cloud deployments in the world. Based in open standards, it features over 150 advanced technologies and services, including cognitive computing, blockchain, Internet of Things, cloud data services, DevOps, security and integration. IBM API Connect in Bluemix offers a native API management experience, to create, run, manage and secure APIs. Using the new SwaggerHub integration with IBM Bluemix, users can design and document APIs and seamlessly deploy onto API Connect in Bluemix.
The IBM Cloud integration is the latest in SwaggerHub’s suite of integrations with external API Management platforms like AWS API Gateway and Microsoft Azure. By offering various third-party integrations, SmartBear gives development teams the flexibility to work with their cloud provider of choice while orchestrating their API lifecycle directly from SwaggerHub.
