Jason Harmon discusses API-as-a-product at the Platform Summit, October 16-18, 2023, in Stockholm
SOMERVILLE, Mass. and STOCKHOLM — October 17, 2023 —

Jason Harmon, CTO at Stoplight, recently acquired by SmartBear, a leading provider of software development and visibility tools, is speaking at the Platform Summit, Nordic APIs’ flagship API conference, taking place on October 16-18, 2023, in Stockholm. Jason is presenting, “API-as-a-product: The Key to a Successful API Program.” The Platform Summit gathers the brightest minds in the API industry to further the art of designing high-quality, secure API platforms.

WHAT: Jason Harmon presenting at Nordic API’s Platform Summit 2023

WHEN: Thursday, October 17, 2023, 4:50 pm – 5:20 p.m. CEST

WHERE: Clarion Hotel Stockholm, Ringvägen 98, 104 60 Stockholm

Jason is discussing how an API is no different than any other product. You need to help traditional business management understand the relevance of the API program. He plans to help the audience to understand the importance of treating your APIs as products and how to demonstrate that business value. He will also walk through the concrete steps to integrate this process into your API strategy and the key components needed to scale successfully.

Jason has been overseeing the Stoplight world-class engineering team, seeking to solve the software industry’s API design problems, as well overseeing the product, security, and IT teams. He is also the host of Stoplight’s podcast, API Intersection, focused on conversations with leading API leaders on how to scale API programs. Prior to Stoplight, Jason was the Senior Director of Platform Architecture at Expedia, serving as the primary stakeholder for the development of an internal developer portal and tooling to be utilized in strategic re-platforming around APIs.

Bringing over 20 years of experience in the technology and API world, Jason is passionate about educating engineers and business leaders about APIs and improving the developer experience. He is also known for his articles on apiux.com and pragmaticapi.com and is a member of the OpenAPI technical community, as well as one of the founding members of the Austin API meetup.

In August, SmartBear announced entering into a definitive agreement to acquire Stoplight, a global API design-first company, to create the most comprehensive API development platform in the industry, providing enhanced visibility, automation, and productivity for development teams looking to modernize API practices.
