    SVP of FP&A

    Karina Black brings a wealth of experience to her role as Senior Vice President of FP&A at SmartBear, having excelled in various roles across different industries. As the Senior Vice President of FP&A, she plays a crucial role in overseeing critical financial functions and strategic planning processes. Karina's leadership extends beyond her strategic responsibilities to her team, where she fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Outside of the office, Karina enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

    Steve Boss

    SVP, Global Core Sales

    Steve brings over two decades of experience leading high-performing sales organizations at top technology companies, including WebEx, Cisco, LogMeIn, and CB Insights. He is passionate about understanding customers’ business needs and helping them achieve their goals. Steve also takes pride in coaching and mentoring ambitious sales talent, fostering their personal and professional growth. Originally from Greater Boston, Steve enjoys skiing in Vermont, cheering at his daughters’ dance competitions, and relaxing on the beaches of Maine.

    Melissa Campbell

    Chief Revenue Officer

    Melissa has a wealth of experience in leading go-to-market teams to success. They range from large public companies, like IBM, Oracle and BMC, to fast-growing startups, like Tamr. As a seasoned leader, she’s passionate about helping sales and customer success teams perform the best they can with a focus on high energy, data-driven decision making, results, and customers. Along with ensuring a diverse organization, she cultivates an atmosphere where each team member can make an impact and grow. Outside the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her 2 doggies.

  • Bryce Chicoyne, CFO

    Bryce Chicoyne

    Chief Operating Officer

    Bryce is the COO of SmartBear, and oversees mergers and acquisitions, finance, legal, information systems, security, and operations. He joined SmartBear in 2017 and has 20 years of experience building and leading finance and administrative teams. He has extensive M&A experience, having successfully been involved in almost two dozen transactions.

  • Amy Cohn

    Chief People Officer

    Amy is the Chief People Officer at SmartBear and leads the company’s global People & Culture teams - overseeing the company’s talent and people strategies, culture, and ESG/DEI. Amy has over 15 years of leadership experience partnering to drive sustainable high-growth within organizations like Quickbase, a Vista company, where she was previously the Chief People Officer. As a champion of the employee experience, she strives to build a company culture that supports SmartBear’s business goals and strategies as well as the needs and aspirations of our employees around the world. Amy has numerous hobbies like tennis, painting, and puzzles all of which ebb and flow. Her constants include spending time with friends and family, volunteering, and enjoying time outside with her dogs Milkshake and Scout.
  • Lisa Dockins

    SVP & Corporate Controller

    Lisa is a proven financial leader with 20 years of experience in the healthcare, tech, and manufacturing industries. She has a diverse background, ranging from VC-backed startup companies to global public ones – including Amazon and Cardinal Health – and has supported several M&A transactions over the course of her career. To get the best results, she believes in developing teams that collaborate; and fostering an environment where they readily support each other as well as the company. Outside of the office, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, their dogs, and the outdoors of New Hampshire.
  • Dan Faulkner

    Dan Faulkner

    Chief Product Officer

    Dan is the Chief Product Officer of SmartBear and leads the company's global Product and Development teams. He joined SmartBear in 2021 and brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic leadership at high-growth global technology organizations. He has expertise in heading up multiple enterprise-level acquisitions and building go-to-market strategies on a global scale. Outside of work, Dan loves to spend time with family, friends, books, horror movies, and soccer matches, usually in that order.
  • Kevin Foster

    SVP of Growth Marketing

    Kevin is a transformational executive with extensive experience leading high-growth tech companies. As SVP of Growth Marketing, Kevin drives impact marketing strategies across SmartBear to fuel continued growth and amplify our brand presence worldwide. Outside of the office, Kevin enjoys traveling and attending music or sports events with his wife and two sons.
  • Cynthia Gumbert

    Cynthia Gumbert

    Chief Marketing Officer

    Cynthia has worked in technology, both software and hardware, for 20+ years, including holding marketing leadership positions at Dell Technologies and CA, now Broadcom. She leads marketing efforts by mixing the science and art of marketing with a passion for innovation and breakthroughs that help advance industry. In addition to leading the marketing function, she’s also involved in advancing women in technology and loves overseeing a diverse and multinational team. Outside of the office, Cynthia enjoys the outdoors, especially skiing, and a good binge-watch with her family.

  • Lance Levy

    Lance Levy

    SVP and General Counsel

    Lance Levy has over 20 years of in-house leadership in public, private-equity and venture-backed companies. He joined SmartBear in 2015, and led the legal team through its private-equity sale from Insight Ventures to Francisco Partners and, most recently, the strategic investment from Vista Equity Partners. In his experience leading company legal teams, he’s successfully led multiple tech organizations through buy-and-sell side M&A exits, totaling over $2B. Prior to SmartBear, Lance was General Counsel of Affinnova, Inc., Imagitas, Inc., leading them in exits to Nielson Corporation and Pitney Bowes respectively and Assistant General Counsel at PAREXEL International. He enjoys spending time with friends and family and will laugh when appropriate, no written mandate required.

  • Carolyn Loundenslager

    SVP of Business Operations

    Carolyn has nearly 20 years of experience helping companies build and scale sales, marketing, and customer success organizations using data-driven insights. As SVP of Business Operations, she is focused on optimizing operations and leveraging data to support sales, playing a pivotal role in creating an environment where customer success soars. Having spent the early part of her career as an entrepreneur, she is closely familiar with the challenges and opportunities our customers face as they grow.

    Previously, Carolyn was Head of Revenue Operations and Customer Experience at Solidigm (formerly Intel), where she led customer success strategy, measurement, and execution. At Honeywell, she created and led the global commercial excellence function for the Safety and Productivity business, supporting over 2,000 salespeople and channel partners.

    Outside of work, Carolyn enjoys spending time hiking and traveling. In 2019, she explored the 48 contiguous United States with her family in an RV, and she hopes to one day thru-hike the 2,000 mile Appalachian Trail.

    Jenn McAuliffe has extensive experience in the software sales industry, managing operations in business growth, strategic business development, revenue generation, customer focus, and team leadership. As a seasoned enterprise sales team leader, she's passionate about delivering unparalleled customer value and keeping customers at the center of our mission. In addition to her professional career, Jenn is also involved in women’s leadership and mentoring. Outside of the office, Jenn enjoys pilates, running, overall fitness and traveling.

  • Sean McGinn

    SVP, Global Indirect Sales

    Sean is an accomplished business development and partnerships executive with over 20 years of experience driving partner-led revenue growth. He has worked for both small and large organizations, developing strategies and leading teams to scale businesses through strategic partnerships, sales channels, and joint ventures. Sean's track record of successful partnerships includes working with global conglomerates and hyperscalers. Sean believes high-performing partner teams are key to scaling revenue. In his free time, Sean enjoys spending time with family, playing golf and is an avid sailor – having sailed on both coasts of the United States and a few remote places as well!

  • Madhup Mishra

    SVP, Product Marketing

    Madhup leads Product Marketing for SmartBear, creating product and solutions messaging, positioning, and sales enablement, and launching new products. He deeply understands SmartBear’s core developer and development team audience and can strategically communicate the impact of its products throughout the software development lifecycle. With over two decades of technology experience in companies like Hitachi Vantara, Volt Active Data, HPE SimpliVity, Dell, and Dell-EMC, Madhup has held a variety of roles in product management, sales engineering, and product marketing. Madhup lives in Central Massachusetts with his lovely wife, their son, and their dog. In his free time, he loves to travel, bike, and run.
  • Dave Phillips

    SVP of Customer Retention and Technical Sales Engineering

    With over 20 years of experience building and leading high-performance sales teams, David understands the importance of listening to customer needs and delivering engagement and support. In this role, he plays a pivotal part in developing strategies that ensure customers solve their most complex challenges while seeing true value from their investment.

    Before joining SmartBear, David was Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Success at 3Play Media, where he led customer retention initiatives and success programs. He also served as Chief Revenue Officer at Alyce, helping sales and marketing teams forge meaningful connections through corporate gifting. His extensive leadership experience includes roles at Quickbase, LogMeIn, Monster Worldwide, and Oracle USA, where he consistently drove aggressive revenue goals through a customer-first approach.

    David is passionate about promoting ongoing customer engagement, integrating the voice of the customer into company strategy, and fostering long-term relationships built on value and differentiation in the competitive SaaS landscape. He believes in empowering teams to thrive through daily coaching, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on growth. David’s leadership philosophy is centered on creating a culture of success, where curiosity is encouraged, competitiveness leads to outstanding results, and having fun is part of the journey.

    Outside the office, David enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three daughters, embracing his love for adventure in all its forms.

    SVP, Brand & Corporate Communications

    A storyteller at heart, Maureen leads the development of our strategic narrative – ensuring we view the world through an employee and customer lens. With career experience shaped in the technology and professional services industries, Maureen has spent over two decades building standout brands during start-up, acquisition, and IPO for companies including Constant Contact and IBM. Obsessed with the customer and employee experience, Maureen is a strong believer that creating remarkable customer experiences starts with creating exceptional employee experiences – building a strong and beloved brand from the inside out. Maureen enjoys running, spending time at the beach, and traveling with family and friends.

  • Vineeta Puranik

    SVP, Engineering

    Vineeta has had a lengthy career in software-engineering leadership. Her experience includes multi-shore development, cybersecurity, and acquisition – and the elements of integration that go with it. As a seasoned, execution-oriented leader, she’s passionate about advancing Agile-to-DevOps workflows, and secure, high-quality product development practices. Outside of the office, Vineeta enjoys hiking, painting, and yoga.

    Frank Roe

    Chief Executive Officer

    Joining in 2018, Frank is the CEO and a board member of SmartBear, overseeing all aspects of the business. With over 25 years of experience, Frank seeks a comprehensive understanding of business complexities, providing collaborative leadership, while creating sustained long term company value. When not working, Frank loves spending time doing everything outdoors with his family and two dogs!

  • Ron Trackey

    SVP, Product Management and Design

    Ron brings more than 30 years of global experience to this key role that guides the strategic direction of SmartBear products and the user experience that brings them to life. Having served in product leadership positions at Microsoft, Carbonite, Onapsis, RSA Security, and most recently Digital.ai, Ron is known as a respected leader driving innovation and excellence.

    With a background in Industrial Engineering, Ron aims to tackle the industry’s newest and biggest problems – driving his curiosity toward AI. He believes in leading with integrity and taking risks to build exceptional products. Ron enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, as well as traveling with his family of five.

  • Shital Whitmore

    Chief Financial Officer

    Shital is a finance professional with a well-rounded background in public and private equity-backed organizations – from large to small, across various industries. With her experience in turnaround situations and public companies, she knows not only how to help a team grow, but channel that growth toward the goal of becoming a world-class finance organization. Shital is driven by seeing the success of her team, peers, and the company she works for, but that’s not all. When she's not transforming finance organizations, she can be found on a mountain with her two little boys, skiing in the winter and hiking in all other seasons, or reluctantly touching interesting creatures that she'd otherwise run away from (thanks boys!).
