Don't depend on one type of development tool. TestComplete can automate software tests on a wide range of applications and can simulate user actions on any 32- or 64-bit Windows, .NET, Java or Web application from any development language.

Wide Range of Supported Applications

Unlike many other testing tools, TestComplete is not limited with testing applications made by only one specific compiler. It works equally well with applications created with various development tools and programming languages. Below is a list of major software platforms and applications types supported by TestComplete:

Desktop Applications

All .NET applications created for .NET Framework v.2.0—4.5 with the following development tools:

  • Microsoft: Visual C#, Visual Basic .NET and Visual C++ .NET (managed code) 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, JScript .NET.
  • Non-Microsoft: C#Builder, Delphi for .NET, Python .NET, Cobol .NET, and others.

Native Windows applications

  • Microsoft: Visual C++ 6.0, unmanaged Visual C++ 2002 (7.0), 2003 (7.1), 2005 (8.0), 2008 (9.0), 2010 (10.0) and 2012 (11.0).
    (Visual Studio 2005 only with Service Pack 1 installed).
  • 64-bit .NET, Delphi, Java and Windows applications.
  • Intel C++ 11.0.0066.
  • Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0.
  • Embarcadero Delphi 2010, XE and XE2, CodeGear Delphi 2007 and 2009, Borland Delphi 2005 and 2006, Delphi 7.0.
  • Embarcadero C++Builder 2010, XE and XE2, CodeGear C++Builder 2007 and 2009, Borland C++Builder 2006, C++Builder 6.0.

Java applications:
  • Any Java development tool that supports Jave Runtime Environment v. 1.5—1.7
    For example, NetBeans 7.0, Eclipse JDT and other development tools. The AWT, SWT and Swing library classes are also supported.
  • JavaFX 1.2 or 1.2.1 Software Development Kit (SDK).

  • Internet Explorer 6—10 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) and applications with the embedded Microsoft WebBrowser control.

  • Adobe Flash 10.0 and later.
