Mark Hammer, Senior Product Director, offers tips on the mechanics of lightweight code reviews and compares five common styles of peer review, presenting research from Karl Wiegers, Frank W. Blakely, Mark E. Boles and others. Attendees leave with how peer code review can improve the performance of individual developers, their teams and the software they produce, including ROI of code review. In the presentation, “7 Habits of Highly Effective APIs,” Ole Lensmar, Chief Architect and co-creator of SoapUI, highlights seven key areas that need to be addressed from a QA and testing perspective during the entire API inception-to-operations process. A fictive API is used to exemplify the challenges of leveraging APIs that are both highly competitive and appealing to end consumers and serves as a basis for corresponding guidelines and best practice recommendations.
