Joe Krivickas - CEO
Joe started his career as a software developer in GE’s Edison Engineering Program where he developed a passion for working with development teams. For the past 10 years, he has been a software industry President or CEO, and has worked with his own software development teams to create over 2,000 jobs and $1.2 billion of investor value in the publicly traded companies that he has helped lead: Bluestone Software (NASDAQ: BLSW); Segue Software (NASDAQ: SEGU); and, FAST (Oslo BORS: FAST). His focus of interest is in helping to teach and mentor the emerging generation of leaders, something he actively pursues as the Chairman and Founder of the Gordon College Center for Nonprofit Studies and Philanthropy, Co-founder of the Lithuanian Rural Development Fund which serves 3,500 economically disadvantaged youth and, of course, the many emerging generation of leaders who are part of the SmartBear team. Joe also served as a reconnaissance infantry officer in the U.S. ARMY National Guard.

Derek Langone - President
Derek began his career on Wall Street focused on technology investing. Once exposed to the fast paced environment of software startups, he quickly left banking to establish a career in technology. For the past 15 years, Derek has focused on building and scaling Technical Sales Organizations. Prior to serving as SmartBear’s President, he was Vice President of Sales at Quest Software and IMCEDA Software. He also held senior Sales Positions at Vality Technology, (now IBM), Embarcadero and SAP America. Derek’s passion has always been delivering customer value, and groups under his leadership have routinely been awarded customer service and innovation praise. If you spot Derek outside of the office, you will likely find him playing his most valuable role as proud Dad to his two daughters.

Ian C. McLeod, Jr. - Executive VP, Products
Ian’s background includes senior executive roles at several of the leading software development and test tools companies in the industry, including SVP, Products at Segue Software, VP, Products at Borland software, and Director, Engineering at Rational Software, among others. He has extensive experience leading distributed software development teams, improving development performance, establishing product strategy and building new businesses. He is passionate about software product development, and the software tools industry, and is excited about further contributing to the software development and test community at SmartBear Software.

Richard “Rip” Haak - CFO
Rip’s background includes senior financial leadership positions in publicly traded and privately held technology, education, and energy companies. Previously, as the CFO of EqualLogic, he led the IPO process and road show development just prior to an acquisition by Dell, Inc. for $1.375 billion. Rip was also the CFO of Enterasys Networks (NYSE: ETS), a $350 million enterprise network infrastructure provider. Rip was also the CFO of Advantage Schools and held executive finance positions at PictureTel and Wheelabrator Technologies. Throughout his 25-year career, Rip has built high-performance financial and administrative support teams while creating value-added partnerships with operating management. In his “free” time, Rip is an active board member of Family Service, Inc., a 157 year–old social service agency focused on Youth Mentoring, Family Development, and Mental Health, and serves on the Finance Committee of Bellesini Academy, a private middle school in Lawrence providing quality scholarship education for boys. Outside the office, Rip likes spending time with his family, fly fishing for stripers and blues, and giving back to the community.
