WebLoadUI Pro is an on-premise tool offered as a subscription or a perpetual license for an on-premise deployment. Annual subscription list prices for North America are provided in the table below. If you are interested in purchasing a perpetual license, or a shorter-term project license, please contact our sales team for a quote. Please follow this link "Explain License Differences" for more information about available license types.
A Controller license allows users to record load testing scenarios, create and launch a load test up to the number of virtual users purchased, and analyze test results. Additional Designer Seat Licenses can be purchased for larger teams, for creating and debugging tests. Controller licenses are available as node-locked and floating, Designer licenses are available only as floating.

Explain license differences
WebLoadUI Pro license types: Node-Locked vs. Floating User
-
The Node-Locked license is a license for a single computer (node). It is “bound” to the computer where it was activated. You can run WebLoadUI Pro only on this computer.
-
The Floating User license supports concurrent work of several WebLoadUI Pro instances on more than one computer in the network. The allowed number of concurrent instances is specified by the license key. A Floating User license requires a License Manager, where the license is activated. All instances of WebLoadUI Pro must run on the same network as the License Manager.
WebLoadUI Pro license terms: Subscription vs. Perpetual:
-
A Subscription license is time-limited and allows using WebLoadUI Pro throughout the subscription period specified in the contract (for example, 1 year). A subscription license includes support services and maintenance (updates and new releases) for the subscription period. When the subscription expires, you can no longer use the software. Subscription licenses can be renewed by purchasing another subscription.
-
A Perpetual license has no expiration date, which means that you can use WebLoadUI Pro forever. It includes 1 year of support and maintenance (updates and new releases). You can renew maintenance for an additional year of support services and free software updates.
WebLoadUI Pro Editions: Controller and Designer
SmartBear offers two WebLoadUI Pro editions: Controller and Designer
-
The Controller Edition is required for any WebLoadUI Pro deployment. It is intended for creating, modifying, debugging load tests and also running tests using massive loads, with distributed load generators on a local network or in a cloud.
-
The Designer Edition type is meant to for engineers developing performance test and can be used for creating, modifying and debugging load tests. The Designer type is limited to a relatively small number of virtual users for a test (10VUs). Designer licenses can be added on to a Controller purchase to accommodate a larger performance test team.
WebLoadUI Pro Controller is available with Node-locked or Floating User licenses. WebLoadUI Pro Designer Edition is available only as Floating User licenses.
SmartBear WebLoadUI EULA
WebLoadUI Pro supports load generation on demand using the Amazon cloud. This feature is part of the basic WebLoadUI Pro package and does not require additional modules or any extra software costs. You will just need an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account. Please note that you will be responsible for any cloud usage costs according to the Amazon EC2 Pricing and the AWS Customer Agreement.
