This session addresses how development, testing and other teams can collaborate to address areas of quality, how the lines between development and test are blurring and the role development-led automation can play in quality game development.
“Most developers understand the benefits of high quality code and identifying defects as early in the process as possible – before they reach the customer or even before they reach the testing team,” said Mark Hammer. “But how do you address quality at the development level? We explore the processes to put in place to ensure high quality early in the process and the tools to help in this effort – to ensure defects are found in the development stage, before testing and before the game hits the gamer.”
As Senior Product Director at SmartBear, Mark Hammer often speaks and writes about the software development process with a special emphasis on code and artifact review. He has been helping organizations manage peer code and document review for many years. He has over 20 years of experience in software product management and marketing with a strong track record in developing customer-focused business solutions in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets.
Henry Golding is a Software Development Engineer in Test at Microsoft. He works closely with Rare Ltd, part of Microsoft Studios, and a first party developer dedicated to innovation on Microsoft platforms. He was previously a Gameplay Programmer at video gaming developer Eurocom and a Tools Programmer with Lionhead Studios
