Ole Lensmar Transitions from Role as Chief Technology Officer to Key Strategic Advisor
SOMERVILLE, Mass. — November 14, 2017 —
SmartBear Software, the leader in software quality tools for teams, announced that Ole Lensmar will join the SmartBear Advisory Board after previously serving as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Lensmar joined SmartBear in 2011 when SmartBear acquired Eviware Software. At Eviware, he was a co-founder and the creator of SoapUI, the world’s most used API open source testing tool with millions of downloads. Lensmar has had great success as CTO of SmartBear, growing its API business exponentially, facilitating the acquisitions of Swagger and CrossBrowserTesting, and acting as a spokesman for the Company around the world.
As a member of the advisory board, Lensmar will play a key role as a strategic and technical advisor to SmartBear. Additionally, he will continue to act as a spokesman and thought leader in the API lifecycle space, representing SmartBear on the Open API Initiative (OAI), of which SmartBear is a founding member and Lensmar is Chairman. The OAI is a Linux Foundation hosted consortium of forward-looking industry experts focused on creating, evolving, and promoting a vendor neutral API description format.
“I want to thank Ole for his instrumental role in SmartBear’s success and the growth of the API testing industry as a whole during his time as CTO,” said Justin Teague, CEO of SmartBear. “Ole is a true industry thought leader and innovator, and his continued contributions as a member of the advisory board will be highly valued.”
“As CTO, I’ve been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to help SmartBear grow into a leader in the API testing and lifecycle space,” said Lensmar. “I look forward to continuing to shape this process in my new role as Strategic Advisor.”
