What’s New in ReadyAPI
Test and Monitor | Posted July 01, 2020

This blog is part of a monthly series highlighting the updates and happenings of our all-in-one automated API testing platform, ReadyAPI.

Hello friends! Our team has been working hard since our last update and we’re excited to deliver ReadyAPI v3.3.0 to our beloved API testers. As all versions, ReadyAPI 3.3.0 is built on our core product principles of user-centric, collaborative, open, balanced, and frictionless. This release is a culmination of the work we’ve done over the past quarter to add powerful new functionality that improves the product’s integration into Git repositories and Git repository providers. We encourage you to download and trial the latest ReadyAPI version here so you are up-to-date.

So what’s new in our latest version? Let’s break it down:

  • Git dialog
  • Merge Screen

Git Dialog

  • We have introduced a new way of working with Git repositories – the Git dialog that is available from the main toolbar:
ReadyAPI Git Dialog

In the dialog, you can perform the most common operation with Git repositories:

  • Create a local Git repository from the project
  • Connect a local repository to a remote one
  • Commit and push your changes
  • Pull changes from other team members
  • Create branches and switch between them
  • Create pull requests (only in Github repositories)

Merge Screen

ReadyAPI can now detect conflicts between your version and the remote branch, a new ‘Git Merge’ dialog will open allowing you to easily resolve conflicts when pulling changes from a remote repository. The special merge screen identifies 3 project trees so that users can make decisions when merging projects:

  1. Our/Yours (local project)
  2. Theirs (remote project)
  3. Result (composed of the decisions that have been made from yours and theirs)

Looking Ahead

The ReadyAPI team has 4 key themes as we continue our 2020 development:

  1. Integration and reuse
  2. The API lifecycle
  3. Automation
  4. User experience

You’ll see that future updates will center around these themes. We can’t wait to share our upcoming improvements with you as they occur.

That’s it for now. We encourage you to download the latest version of ReadyAPI here to see these highlights in action. We’ll have more exciting news on the next iteration of ‘What’s New in ReadyAPI’.

Till then – Happy Testing!
