Mobile apps present new challenges to testers. Of course, tried and true test techniques still apply - you still need to verify if users can enter data into your application, if data gets saved or sent on to a server, and that calculations are performed correctly and so on.

But what's new is that the mobile device is its own independent environment that has different constraints, limitations and dependencies in order to work properly. For example, in addition to making sure that data gets sent to a server when you press OK, you also have to test to see what happens when you lose your Wi-Fi connection.  Your app may display different information depending upon its GPS coordinates, and you'll need to make sure that you don't lose data when someone tries to call or text you.

These are just a few of the scenarios I'll be discussing during my talk at this year's FalafelCon. I'll show how TestComplete can handle the basics of mobile test automation as well as how to handle these new situations. Hope to see you there!
