Ole Lensmar Promoted to Chief Architect of SmartBear

The driving force behind soapUI and loadUI, Ole Lensmar, is taking on an important new role with SmartBear: Chief Architect. Read the news release.

Ole had been CTO of SmartBear Sweden since SmartBear purchased eviware, the company he cofounded, in 2011. In his new, expanded role, Ole is working closely with the company’s product teams to align SmartBear’s product line strategy with ongoing business, customer and technology needs.

Ole’s boss, Ian McLeod, SmartBear’s EVP and chief product officer, calls him “a giant in the world of Web Services testing,” who demonstrated his unique skills by developing the groundbreaking soapUI and loadUI tools. Ian adds that Ole has played “a vital role in shaping SmartBear’s technology vision of a complete Quality Lifecycle offering.”

You may watch Ole in action in the following soapUI 4.5 and loadUI 2.0 Release Webinar:

Ole, who describes himself as “passionate about software technologies,” will continue to lead the SmartBear Technology Board. He says SmartBear has a lot to be passionate about: “rock-solid native desktop applications, industry-leading Open Source and cutting-edge Web-based solutions, all gathered under a Quality Lifecycle Management offering with enormous potential for growth.”

Ole’s commitment to meeting the needs of current and future SmartBear customers is so strong, he’s going to move from Sweden to company headquarters in the U.S. next year.
