Can Our CMO Learn to Record a Complex Web Transaction Faster than the New Star Wars Episode VII Trailer?
Test and Monitor | Posted December 18, 2014

If you're a Star Wars fan like us, you might agree that the new trailer for Episode VI: The Force Awakens released on November 29 felt like it went by at lightspeed. After all, it was only one minute and thirty seconds in length...which is nothing (especially compared to the year we have to wait for the movie to premiere in December 2015).

A couple weeks after the trailer release, we were shooting a video interview with, Brian Hutchinson, one of our senior solutions engineers about the buzz around AlertSite UXM's web transaction recorder, DejaClick, and how fast and easy it is to use. During the session, Brian made a pretty bold claim about how easy DejaClick is to use exactly:

“It’s the easiest recording tool out there…I guarantee you anyone can learn [to use Dejaclick] and be able to record a complex script in two minutes and be monitoring.”

We decided to take Brian up on his wager on the spot to see if AlertSite UXM’s Dejaclick truly is the fastest, easiest web transaction recorder in the galaxy. But one of our development or operations team members would be too easy—to truly test the theory, we needed someone in a non-technical role—someone who would never in a million lightyears work with web scripts in their day-to-day.

A minute later I walked into our CMO Bryan Semple’s office and said “guess who says you can’t learn to record a web transaction with DejaClick in under two minutes?”
