About This Video

When testing an application that accesses a database, you may need to verify the contents of database tables and views as well as results of custom SQL queries. TestComplete allows you to perform these kinds of checks from automated tests using database checkpoints. This video demonstrates how you can create database checkpoints and use them in your automated tests.

You will learn how to:

  • Add a database checkpoint to keyword-driven tests and scripts while recording or editing the test.
  • Specify the data source.
  • Use the SQL designer to visually define the SQL query you want to check and preview its results.
  • Limit the number of records to check and exclude individual fields or values from the check.
  • Review or modify the expected record set that is stored in your test project.
  • Analyze the database check results in the test log and see which values, if any, are different in the expected and actual record sets.

Length: 8 minutes 5 seconds.
Product version: This video was recorded with TestComplete 8.
