New Features in AQtime 7.10
The new AQtime is more efficient in managing the project and profiling data. Now, AQtime stores profiling results in in separate data files that reside in the project file folder. This enhancement reduces the amount of memory AQtime consumes.
The Use temporary file for project setting has been removed from the General Preferences dialog. Now, AQtime does not use temporary files and saves the entire project at once. The side benefit of this change is project files are not damaged if AQtime exits unexpectedly, or the operating system hangs.
The Routines to Ignore and Files to Ignore dialogs have been united into one dialog. To access the dialog, do the following:
Select Options | Options from the main menu of AQtime standalone. – or– Right-click any panel node in Microsoft Visual Studio’s Solution Explorer and select Properties from the context menu. –or– Select AQtime | Options from the main menu of Embarcadero RAD Studio.
Choose the General | Ignore Files and Routines category in the ensuing Options dialog.
The License Manager and license key activation procedures have been simplified and better automated. The new license activation wizard streamlines typical cases of the activation process by guiding the user through the required steps, for automated and manual activation. The wizard is included in both AQtime 7.10 and the stand-alone License Manager utility.
The AQtime packages integrated into Microsoft Visual Studio and Embarcadero RAD Studio now consume a license only when the user starts working with AQtime features. Earlier, the licenses were consumed when the IDEs were started.
AQtime has a new /AdditionalOutput (or /ao) command-line argument that lets you save information on events that occurred during the profiling in AQtime and in the profiled application to a test file.
Bug Fixes in AQtime 7.10
General
Fixed: The "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation" error could occur on AQtime startup after which the application was terminated.
AQtime no longer exits unexpectedly while saving a project containing a great number of profiling results (when the size of the project file is more than 190 Mb).
Fixed: An issue where the Save command did not save the project file if the Use temporary file for project option was enabled.
Fixed: AQtime closed unexpectedly while reading debug information for certain modules.
Fixed: AQtime could shut down while opening profiling results.
Fixed: Incorrect merging of results of the Light Coverage profiler.
The error message, which is displayed when AQtime is unable to profile an application running in another user session, has been improved.
A number of issues have been fixed in AQtime sample projects.
Profiling Applications
AQtime could shut down unexpectedly upon attaching to a 64-bit service process under Windows Server 2008 R2.
Fixed an issue where ASP.NET assemblies compiled for Any CPU could not be profiled on a 32-bit machine.
IDE Integration
Fixed: Unexpected termination of AQtime if its integration into Microsoft Visual Studio was not completed due to insufficient privileges.
Fixed: Termination of AQtime while starting profiling from within Microsoft Visual Studio.
Fixed an issue where AQtime could start neither as a standalone application nor within Microsoft Visual Studio after an unsuccessful attempt to run profiling from within the IDE.
