Yes! Although CodePickle comes with a free 3-way merge tool called kdiff3, you can use any other tool instead.

We have built-in support for many popular merge tools including Araxis Merge, Guiffy Merge, and P4Merge (Perforce). However you can configure your own diff/merge tool using the Merge Tool Configuration Dialog.

Which version control systems are supported?

Perforce (all versions of client and server)
Rational ClearCase (all versions)
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (v6.0 and higher)
Subversion (server v1.0.0 and higher)
CVS (both standard and CvsNT; see below for protocols)
SourceGear Vault (both v2.x and v3.x)

When will you have support for version control system XYZ?

We are currently considering support for PVCS, StarTeam, and Surround SCM. If you would like support for these systems or any others, please let us know.

Do you support language XYZ?

All languages are supported. CodePickle operates on any text files (and binary files too, with limited functionality).

What features are coming next?

New features are driven through customer input. The following features are the kinds of things to expect in future versions of CodePickle:

Import/Export Pickled Files.
Move a set of pickled files to another computer. Hand off work to another developer or move work across machines.

What are the minimum system requirements?

Code Pickle requires a Windows machine with a 800Mhz processor and 20MB of RAM. You should have at least 100MB hard drive space available.

Code Pickle also requires the .NET Framework; the installer will prompt to install this for you if you don't have it yet.

Do I have to install something on my version control server?

No! CodePickle is strictly client-only. The server will never know CodePickle is running. You will not need to change any server settings, add any server triggers, or change any existing version control client settings.

Does CodePickle have to be running all the time?

No! CodePickle needs to run only when you are suspending or resuming source code files. You can keep CodePickle running all the time, but this is not required.

How can I get a free 30-day trial?
